Day one: Counting my blessings

I have always been taught to count my blessings. At times I have been guilty of not recognizing how many blessings that I have been given. For the last three months I struggled in finding a job. I applied to seventeen different positions.Just waiting to hear back about these jobs was nerve wracking, but it taught me the meaning of patience. I kept having thoughts of doubt plague my mind, I thought nothing was good was going to happen.
One night as I was having a "pity-me-party", my mom reminded me not to lose my faith and doubt. Her exact words to me were, " Kasha, you need to get down on your knees and pray to your Father in Heaven. He is the only one that will help you find a job. Put your faith and trust in him." Of course she was right ( Mother's are always right). As I got ready that following night to go to bed, I started to pray and asked for help. As the weeks went by, I made sure that I prayed each night during the week to help me. One Sunday morning as I sat in sacrament meeting, I started to flip through my scriptures and in instance a scripture stood out to me. The scripture brought me in to the realization that I needed to put my trust and faith in the Lord.

Days went by, along with the weeks and I  still hadn't heard anything about any job. Finally I got an email asking if I would come up to UVU to have an interview for a job. Needless to say, The interview went well and this last Wednesday I got the job! I have come to to find that when we are searching for any destination, we have to count our blessings along the way. Gordon B. Hinckley stated the following:
“It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers.”

Counting our blessings along the way will help us find the final destination, but the question is " Are we willing to count how many blessings we have?"
